So what is WAP? Well, it stands for Wireless Application Protocol. It is based on existing Internet technology such as XML and HTML but uses its own mark-up languages, e.g. HDML and WML allowing you to surf specific sites on the Internet with your mobile phone. Because the memory of a mobile phone is relatively small it uses a microbrowser and this can only compile small files and display mono (2 color) graphics. |
