What is WAP? by Michael Wright

So what is WAP? Well, it stands for Wireless Application Protocol. It is based on existing Internet technology such as XML and HTML but uses its own mark-up languages, e.g. HDML and WML allowing you to surf specific sites on the Internet with your mobile phone. Because the memory of a mobile phone is relatively small it uses a microbrowser and this can only compile small files and display mono (2 color) graphics.
